Though a plethora of books were offered at the site of the Scopes trial in July, 1925 in Dayton, Tennessee, the above
was far and away the best seller. The cover art and following cartoons are by F. W. Alden. Though P. H. Kadey
and M. M. Travis contributed a few cartoons as well, their work is not displayed on this site. Sites featuring their
drawings for the Shadduck booklets can be found on the 'links' page in the menu bar at the left.
The cover art for the second edition (1926) was identical, except for a few minor text changes.
